The countdown to the 2026–2027 FIRST Tech Challenge season has begun. We are gearing up for launch on September 12th, 2026. This season features the BIOBUZZ™ game presented by RTX.
Kickoff events are vital community-building opportunities. Local teams gather to celebrate the live game reveal. They stream the broadcast and break down the challenge. We need more teams to host a kickoff!
Current Kickoff Locations
We have four hosts confirmed across Wisconsin:
Lakeshore Robotics – Manitowoc
MSOE Stem Center – Milwaukee (Milwaukee area teams)
Nerds of Steel – Wanek Center of Innovation, La Crosse
Homestead High School – Mequon (limited space, scrimmage)
Priority Area: South-Central Wisconsin 📍
We want six geographically diverse locations. Our current map has a clear gap. We are searching for a south-central Wisconsin host. Facility options in Madison, Janesville, or Beloit are highly needed.
What Does Hosting Involve?
Any group of teams can host a Kickoff. FIRST Wisconsin promotes RSVPs for all events.
We offer two ways to host:
Official Field Sites: Expecting a minimum of 8 to 10 teams. These sites receive physical field elements. We are looking for two more field sites!
Community Streaming Sites: Expecting fewer than 8–10 teams? You can still host without a field! Gather local teams to watch the broadcast. We will still feature you on our events page.
Choose a format that fits your community. Options range from half-day streaming to full-day workshop schedules.
